These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Sentinel and Sentinel+ (collectively, “Sentinel” or “the Plugin”). By installing, activating, or using Sentinel, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

What Sentinel Is

Sentinel is a WordPress security monitoring and audit logging plugin. Sentinel is available in two versions:

  • Sentinel Free: A free version with core monitoring features
  • Sentinel+: A premium subscription version with advanced security features, incident detection, and priority support

Subscriptions & Licensing

License Scope

Each Sentinel+ subscription includes one license key that may be used on one production website. You may use the same license key on staging or development environments for that same website.

Activation Limits

Your license key has a fixed activation limit. If you attempt to activate the license on more sites than permitted, activation will fail. Contact support if you need to reset your activation count.

Subscription Requirements

  • Plugin updates require an active subscription
  • Premium features require an active subscription
  • License validation requires an active subscription
  • Priority support is available only to active subscribers

If your subscription expires or is cancelled, your license becomes inactive and premium features will stop functioning. Your historical data and settings will remain intact, but you will lose access to Sentinel+ features until you renew your subscription.

Refund Policy

Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis through our support team. While refunds are not guaranteed except where required by law, we will consider refund requests for:

  • Functionality issues that we cannot resolve
  • Unresolved technical problems
  • Accidental purchases that have not been used

Restrictions

Prohibited Uses

You may not:

  • Resell, redistribute, or sublicense Sentinel.
  • Share your license key with third parties outside your organization
  • Use your license key on multiple production websites (one license = one site)
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to bypass Sentinel’s licensing system
  • Modify Sentinel’s code to circumvent licensing or security features
  • Use Sentinel for any unlawful, harmful, or malicious purposes
Violation of these restrictions may result in immediate license termination without refund.

Ownership & Intellectual Property

A Sentinel+ subscription grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Sentinel on one website. This license does not grant you ownership of the software or any intellectual property rights.

Warranty Disclaimer

Sentinel is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that Sentinel will be error-free, uninterrupted, or compatible with all WordPress themes, plugins, or hosting environments.

We are not responsible for the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of logged events, nor do we guarantee that Sentinel will detect or prevent all security threats.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sentinel and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

  • Data loss or corruption
  • Website downtime or performance issues
  • Conflicts with third-party plugins or themes
  • Security breaches or unauthorized access
  • Loss of profits or business opportunities

Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction with Sentinel is to discontinue use and, if applicable, request a refund in accordance with our refund policy.

Payment Processing

All Sentinel+ purchases are processed securely through Stripe, a third-party payment processor. We do not store, process, or have access to your payment card information. All payment data is handled by Stripe in accordance with their privacy policy and security standards.

Cancellation

You may cancel your Sentinel+ subscription at any time through your account settings on stripe or by contacting support. Cancellation will:

  • Stop all future billing immediately
  • Allow you to continue using Sentinel+ features until the end of your current billing period
  • Automatically deactivate your license at the end of the billing period

No refunds are provided for partial billing periods. All your data and settings will remain intact after cancellation.

Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms of Service as Sentinel evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of Sentinel after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must discontinue use of Sentinel and cancel your subscription (if applicable).
